Tepezza

Tepezza is an FDA approved injectable drug used for the treatment of thyroid eye disease (“TED”).

A recent study found that nearly half of Tepezza users reported hearing-related issues within four Tepezza treatments.

The symptoms reported by Tepezza patients included muffled hearing, hearing loss, the feeling that their ears were being plugged, tinnitus (ringing of the ears), and autophony (perceiving their own voice as unusually loud).

A March 2021 study by the Endocrine Society announced found that that 65% of patients had reported some hearing loss after using the drug. Additionally, 77% of the patients studied indicated that they had never had an auditory impairment (hearing loss or otherwise) previously.

Horizon Therapeutics failed to adequately warn users of these risks.

Individuals prescribed Tepezza who subsequently experienced hearing-related side effects may be eligible to seek compensation from the manufacturer of Tepezza.
